Honor is currently preparing to launch its latest offering, the Honor 90 Series, which has just passed network access certification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
According to Gizmochina on Thursday (20/4/2023), reports indicate that the high-end version of the Honor 90 Series will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.
Although detailed specifications and photos of the Honor 90 Series have not yet been revealed, the MIIT website has listed the device model numbers as REA-AN00 for Honor 90 and REP-AN00 for Honor 90 Pro.
Rumors suggest that the Honor 90 Series may be announced in May and available for purchase during the upcoming 618 China online shopping festival in June.
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS), a reliable informant, the Honor 90 Pro will retain some core specifications from its predecessor, the Honor 80 Pro, including the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
Since the Honor 80 Pro features a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED display, it is expected that the 90 Pro will have the same. The smartphone is also expected to come with dual front-facing cameras in a dual punch-hole design.
It should be noted that Honor will still be using the Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor in the Honor 90 series, which theoretically can produce 200MP images. This is a significant improvement compared to the Honor 80 Pro, which uses a 160MP main camera.
It remains to be seen how the Honor 90 series will compete with other flagship smartphones in the market. However, according to DCS, the smartphone may be outperformed by the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+.
