Besides Samsung or Huawei, it seems like Google doesn’t want to be left behind in introducing its own foldable smartphone device with the upcoming Google Pixel Fold. After leaked images of Google’s foldable device surfaced around last year, there are now clearer official render leaks and specifications that it will feature.
According to Fonearena, the Google Pixel Fold, which is rumored to have an IPX8 rating and a 4821mAh battery with 30W power, will have a sleek design with a hinge that is almost gapless. Its corners will also be more rounded, not sharp, giving a more elegant impression.
As for its specifications, the Google Pixel Fold will have a screen ratio of 6:5 with a 7.6-inch main screen, OLED display with a resolution of 1840 x 2208 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 380ppi, and a brightness level of up to 1450 nits.
Meanwhile, the second screen will have a slightly smaller 5.8-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2092 pixels, a 17.4:9 aspect ratio, an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 408ppi, and a peak brightness of up to 1550 nits, which has been coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
It will be powered by the Google Tensor G2 chipset with the Titan M2 security chip, up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device will run on Android 13 OS.
For the camera, the Google Pixel Fold will have a rear camera setup with a 48 MP OIS + 10.8 MP ultrawide + 10.8 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom, while the front camera will use an 8 MP sensor.
The Google Pixel Fold is reportedly priced starting from around $1919 (Rs. 1,57,435 approx.) per unit and will be officially introduced at the Google I/O event on May 10, 2023.
