According to Reuters, it turns out their reasons are similar to those stated by Apple and Samsung in the past. They are concerned that their employees might accidentally leak confidential company data.
While such an incident has not yet occurred at Google, a similar situation did happen at Samsung, a South Korean company. In that case, a Samsung employee unintentionally uploaded the company’s source code, leading to a ban on the use of AI chatbots similar to ChatGPT by all Samsung employees.
The dangers of these AI chatbots become even more evident when a company specializing in AI like Google itself recognizes the potential privacy breaches and the value of safeguarding data from being leaked.

That’s why several countries, including Italy, temporarily blocked ChatGPT due to concerns about security and potential data privacy issues. Although the Italian government has lifted the block, the risks associated with ChatGPT and similar AI technologies are still apparent.
Especially when inexperienced users unknowingly enter sensitive personal data, it can lead to significant losses for those individuals. The presence of AI like this is a double-edged sword that knows no friend or foe.
