After Qualcomm officially announced the arrival of Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the first smartphone to utilize this chipset has now been unveiled.
The smartphone in question is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R, initially released in China and likely to be available in other markets under a different name. The key specifications of this device include a 6.79-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. In addition to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, it is equipped with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.
The main camera features a 50 MP resolution sensor along with a 2 MP macro sensor, while the front-facing camera utilizes a 5 MP sensor. Other features of the device include a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and it runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
