Recording videos can be done on numerous smartphones out there, and one of the available modes is timelapse. So, how do you create a timelapse video on a Samsung smartphone?
Samsung Galaxy devices have the ability to capture timelapse videos. Before attempting to create such a video, you need to understand what a timelapse video is.
The basic idea of a timelapse is to show the movement of a very long period of time in a short video. This is achieved with a low frame rate. Regular films typically have a frame rate of 24 frames per second, as quoted from How to Geeks.
This means the camera essentially takes 24 photos per second. For slower-moving subjects, such as growing plants, 24 photos per second will not show any significant motion. So, how do you create a timelapse video?
How to Create a Timelapse Video on Samsung Smartphone:
- Let’s get started. First, open the camera app on your Samsung Galaxy phone and tap “More” on the bottom toolbar.
- Here are all the different camera modes you can use. The one we want is “Hyperlapse.”
- Recording a hyperlapse is just like recording any other video. Tap the shutter button to start.
- While recording, you’ll see a red bar at the top of the viewfinder. This indicates how long the camera has been recording (right number) vs. how long the hyperlapse will be (left number).
- When you’re finished, tap the shutter button again.
That’s it! Hyperlapses don’t offer as many options as timelapses with a dedicated camera. You can’t choose the frame rate or anything like that. It’s just a simple way to create cool videos with your phone.
