Upcoming Intel Meteor Lake-Based CPUs: Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 Cores to Surpass 5.0 GHz Clock Speeds

Prominent hardware leaker Golden Pig Upgrade has brought exciting news about Intel’s upcoming processor lineup. The forthcoming Intel Core 7 and Core 9 Ultra series, built on the Meteor Lake architecture, are primed to push the boundaries of clock speeds, exceeding an impressive 5.0 GHz.

The anticipation for Intel’s next-generation mobile series, hinged on the Meteor Lake architecture, is gaining momentum with revelations from “Golden Pig Upgrade.” These insights affirm that Intel has managed to overcome previous hardware limitations, thus allowing the new mobile architecture to achieve clock speeds that soar beyond the 5 GHz mark.

Leaked information hints that the Core 7 Ultra series is set to achieve a clock speed milestone of 5.0 GHz. Notably, the even more powerful Core Ultra 9 series is poised to surpass this benchmark. This revelation shatters prior speculations surrounding potential clock-related challenges.

Presently, the Raptor Lake CPU has already crossed the 5.0 GHz threshold in numerous instances. Exceptional clock speeds of 5.4 GHz are exhibited by the highest-performing mobile CPUs – the Core i9-13900HX and Core i9-13900H. Furthermore, the real-world mobile variant, the Core i7-1370P, anticipated to be succeeded by Meteor Lake, has already achieved a clock speed of 5.2 GHz.

It’s essential to clarify that the reported clock speeds for the Meteor Lake CPU cores specifically apply to the Performance cores. The efficiency cores’ specifics remain undisclosed. Intel’s forthcoming mobile enhancements are set to harness the Intel 4 process node, integrating the Redwood Cove (Core) and Crestmont (Atom) CPU architectures. Additionally, a third ultra-low-power core will find its place on a separate die, although Intel might not count these cores within the total core count.

This eagerly awaited architecture is slated for release later this year, poised to provide robust support for the next generation of high-end laptops. Beyond CPUs, this architecture will introduce the new Xe-LPG GPU architecture, derived from Alchemist. The official unveiling of Intel’s new mobile chips is expected at the Intel Innovation event scheduled for September, adding to the excitement surrounding Intel’s evolving computing ecosystem.
