Microsoft has unveiled a range of new features for their video editing application, Clipchamp. One particularly intriguing addition is the incorporation of a text-to-speech feature, also known as voice over AI. Additionally, Clipchamp now allows users to record voiceovers directly within the application.
What’s fascinating about the voice over AI is its customization options, which include selecting voice type, emotion, pitch, speed, and notably, support for multiple languages including Bahasa Indonesia. The new features in Clipchamp are available for free, with voiceover durations extending up to 10 minutes.
Microsoft has also hinted at an upcoming feature in Clipchamp that will automatically identify and cut silent segments within audio tracks. These additional features aim to bridge the gap between Clipchamp and Capcut, ByteDance’s (TikTok) video editing application, which boasts a plethora of advanced features. Recently, Clipchamp introduced automatic captioning and AI-powered video creation features.
It’s worth noting that Microsoft acquired Clipchamp in 2022. Initially lacking in several standard features, particularly in its free version, the application has undergone gradual enhancements under Microsoft’s stewardship and is now the default video editing app on Windows.
