Threads continues to enhance its platform with new features, addressing the lack of basic functionalities in the emerging social media platform. The latest addition includes a bookmark feature currently undergoing limited testing.
According to Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, this feature has been highly requested by users. However, as the testing is limited, not all users have access to it, and there is no information available regarding its full release.
The Bookmark feature will introduce a “Save” button, reminiscent of similar features on Instagram. Users can save posts by clicking on the three-dot menu in the top right corner and selecting the “Save” option.
Saved posts can be accessed under the “Save” section in the user’s Settings. While this feature might be considered standard for a social media platform, Threads was launched hastily, lacking maturity.
Several other features, including direct messaging (DM), search filters, and trending topics, are still missing from Threads, which was initially launched to the public in July 2023. Nevertheless, the platform, aimed at competing with “Twitter,” is gradually adding various new features based on user demand.
