Xiaomi has officially released the Xiaomi 13 Lite with a Dynamic Island feature that resembles that of the Apple iPhone.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite weighs only 171 grams and has an overall thickness of 7.23 mm. The phone comes in a number of color variants, including Lite Blue, Lite Pink, and Black. The base model with 8GB/128GB will be sold for €499 starting March 8th.
As reported by Gizchina, this is not the first time we’ve seen a Xiaomi phone using the “Dynamic Island” design. The Xiaomi Civi 2 phone also did this, but now the Xiaomi 13 Lite has gone global with this design.
Although the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come with some features to make the pill-shaped island look luxurious, it is not known if this is the case with the Xiaomi 13 Lite.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite features a pill-shaped cutout in the center that houses two 32 MP cameras.
In addition, the phone also packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. This is a premium mid-range chipset that sits above the Snapdragon 778G family. The phone is available in options with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite offers a three-camera setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main shooter. There is also an 8 MP ultrawide shooter with a 119 FOV and a 2 MP macro camera.
The “Dynamic Island” serves as a home for the 32 MP selfie shooter and an 8 MP depth sensor. The shooter will remove natural bokeh effects, and fortunately, it will also work for ultrawide shots. Besides, this brings a 100 FOV that provides room for group photos.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite has a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. It also features a PWM dimming at 1,920 Hz, a typical brightness of 500 nits, and a peak brightness set at 1,000 nits.
The screen has Full HD+ resolution with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It comes with Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the front. The back is also made of glass, but there is no Gorilla Glass, so be careful. The phone has an IP53 rating for water spray and dust resistance.
The Xiaomi 13 Lite comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. It seems similar to the Xiaomi 13, but the Lite version does not feature wireless charging. The phone also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC support – but depending on the region. It runs MIUI 14, but its catch is based on Android 12.
