Xiaomi has officially introduced HyperOS 2.0, a major upgrade that brings a suite of AI-driven tools, improved system performance, and new cross-device connectivity features. At the core of HyperOS 2.0 are three essential technologies: HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI. HyperCore focuses on optimizing system performance, reducing idle CPU time, and increasing app launch speeds by nearly 55%. This makes the OS smoother and more efficient, especially for heavy users and gamers.
HyperConnect enhances interoperability within Xiaomi’s ecosystem, allowing seamless interactions between devices. For example, users can now stream camera feeds across Xiaomi tablets and phones, enhancing the experience for those who rely on multiple Xiaomi devices. In addition, HyperConnect enables easy file sharing across devices, and Xiaomi has added compatibility with select Apple devices in China, allowing cross-platform connectivity through its Internet Services app.
The HyperAI suite, a standout feature, includes tools like real-time translation, AI Magic Painting, AI subtitle generation, and AI-driven security measures. These tools enhance daily use by providing advanced features like translating audio in real time and generating custom artwork from sketches. The AI Magic Painting tool also allows users to enhance images through selective editing, while AI-driven anti-fraud protections warn users of potential scams or fake video content, which demonstrates Xiaomi’s focus on user security.
HyperOS 2.0 will be rolled out in stages, initially launching on devices in China, including the Xiaomi 15 series and Xiaomi Pad 7 series, before a global release later on. Users of older Xiaomi models can expect the update in early 2025, with a roadmap designed to ensure smooth integration across all supported devices.
