It seems that the golden age of the AMD Ryzen 3000G is not yet over. This is because AMD is currently producing tens of thousands of processors with integrated graphics that are powerful enough and were popular in their time. Is this one of the strategies of the red team to attract consumers?
The Glory of AMD Ryzen 3000G is Apparently Not Over Yet
If you follow developments in the computer world, you must know that the AMD Ryzen 3000G is a processor released in 2019 with Zen+ architecture and codenamed ‘Picasso’.
Of course, we are confused, what is the reason for the red team to produce tens of thousands of Ryzen 3000 series processors for the market, at least according to what we quoted from Tom’s Hardware.
However, only processors with integrated graphics are getting a ‘second life’ from AMD. Among them are the Ryzen 3 3200G which offers 4C/4T (Vega 8), and the Ryzen 5 3400G which offers 4C/8T (Vega 11), getting a second chance to become a solution for gamers on a budget.
Sales Tactics to Clear Out Old Motherboards?
It is not yet clear whether this is a tactic to cover the cost of developing and producing AM5 processors, but there is an indication that the Ryzen 3000G processors are being produced to clear out all the old AM4 motherboards in the market today.
If indeed the production of the AMD ‘Picasso’ processors is intended to clear out all the old motherboard stocks, the red team must ensure that the price is competitive, considering their siblings, the 4600G and 5600G are each sold in the range of USD$152.
Our prediction is that the Ryzen 3 3200G will be sold for USD$104 , with its sibling, the Ryzen 5 3400G will be sold in the range of USD128 , but it won’t reach the prices of their siblings, the 4600G and 5600G.
Finally, if this tactic is purely aimed at clearing out old motherboards with A320 and B450 chipsets, this is certainly the right time to build a computer with a budget-friendly specification, which we may not recommend in the coming years.
