The red team AMD never stops launching new innovations to provide gamers with adequate processor alternatives for gaming. This time, it’s the AMD Ryzen Z1 Series processor that has recently been launched, named Zen 4, which is said to target handheld devices.
AMD Ryzen Z1 Series Designed Specifically for Handhelds
It is no secret that AMD has recently devoted itself to launching the best mobile processors that you can see on handheld computers that we have discussed before.
Indeed, this time the red team introduces the AMD Ryzen Z1 Series, designed specifically for handhelds, and promises capabilities and efficiency that are no less than consoles like the PS4 Pro.
The AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme is equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, and reinforced with 12 RDNA 3 on its integrated graphics, while the AMD Ryzen Z1 is accompanied by 6 cores and 12 threads, complete with 4 RDNA 3. Both AMD Ryzen Z1 Series processors will certainly add interesting alternatives to handheld computers.
Zen 4 that Can Beat the PS4 Pro
According to Wccftech, the AMD Ryzen Z1 Series is said to easily beat the PS4 Pro. In addition to its smaller size, this handheld computer is easy to carry around, which seems to be an advantage in this day and age.
Although we ourselves cannot confirm the capabilities of the specially designed processors due to the lack of reviews, you can see the image below:
The Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor will bring 12 graphic cores, and can produce at least 8.6 TFLOPS. Meanwhile, the Ryzen Z1 processor only brings 4 graphic cores that unfortunately can only produce 2.8 TFLOPS, which of course cannot beat consoles like the PS4.
For now, the processor is only available for the handheld computer market, and there doesn’t seem to be any plans from the red team to launch it on laptops in the near future.
