In a stride toward technological advancement, SK Hynix unveiled its LPDDR5T DRAM, touted as the fastest in the world, during the early months of 2023. Building on this innovation, an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) has now disclosed intriguing plans: a smartphone embedding the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC will harness the prowess of SK Hynix’s LPDDR5T RAM.
At present, conventional LPDDR DRAM attains a peak speed of 8.5 GB/s. However, SK Hynix’s experimentation with LPDDR5T unveiled a remarkable feat—an impressive speed surge to 9.6 GB/s, underscoring the cutting-edge nature of this technology.
Collaboratively, a South Korean OEM and MediaTek have shared insights into the potential of these high-speed SK Hynix RAM modules. This symbiotic partnership leverages the forthcoming next-generation flagship Dimensity SoC to fully unlock the capabilities of LPDDR5T RAM, creating a synergy that promises elevated performance in smartphones.
Yet, this innovation’s debut remains on the horizon. While the Dimensity 9300 SoC and its high-tier MediaTek counterparts await their official unveiling, the unveiling of smartphones equipped with this remarkable configuration is projected to occur in the early months of 2024, signaling an exciting leap forward in mobile technology.
