Apple has released a new update for iOS, version 15.4, bringing several new features and bug fixes to iPhone and iPad users. One of the biggest additions is the ability to use the Find My app to locate lost AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, which now have a built-in U1 chip that allows for more precise tracking.
Another notable feature is the addition of a new Focus mode, which allows users to customize notifications and app alerts based on their current activity or location. For example, users can set up a Work mode that only shows work-related notifications during work hours, or a Sleep mode that silences all notifications during the night.
The update also includes several improvements to Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, such as the ability to read and reply to messages from third-party messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. Siri can also now announce incoming calls and allow users to answer or decline them using voice commands.
Other changes include the ability to record and share screen captures of FaceTime calls, improvements to the Wallet app, and new privacy features that allow users to view an app’s privacy report and see what data it collects.
As with all software updates, iOS 15.4 also includes several bug fixes and performance improvements. Notably, the update addresses a bug that caused some apps to crash or become unresponsive, as well as a problem with AirPods Pro that caused them to produce static or crackling sounds.
iOS 15.4 is available now as a free download for compatible iPhone and iPad models. To update your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the on-screen instructions.
