Apple has a long-standing tradition of keeping the precise battery capacities of their iPhones a closely guarded secret, even with the recent launch of the iPhone 15 Series. Determining these figures typically requires either someone disassembling the device or insights from certification sources, which is precisely how the latest details have come to light.
As MySmartPrice reports, the battery capacities of all iPhone 15 Series models have now been unveiled through certification databases in China. What’s evident is that Apple has indeed made some adjustments to the battery capacities in their latest iPhones, although these changes are relatively modest and fall short of a 100mAh increase compared to the iPhone 14 Series.
The standard iPhone 15, for instance, boasts a 3,349mAh battery, showing a slight boost from the 3,279mAh of its predecessor, the iPhone 14. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Plus features a 4,383mAh battery, a minor increase from the 4,325mAh capacity found in the iPhone 14 Plus. Moving on to the iPhone 15 Pro, its battery capacity registers at 3,274mAh, marking an uptick from the 3,200mAh in the iPhone 14 Pro. Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max leads the pack with the largest battery, measuring at 4,422mAh, up from the 4,323mAh in the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
What’s notable is that during Apple’s recent “Wonderlust” launch event, there was no emphasis on battery life improvements for the iPhone 15 Series. This is intriguing because there were expectations of significant enhancements in battery longevity due to the adoption of the 3nm fabrication process for the A17 Pro chipset.
According to specifications listed on Apple’s official website, the battery life of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus remains at 20 hours and 25 hours, respectively. Likewise, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max continue to offer 23 hours and 29 hours of battery life, reflecting no substantial changes compared to their predecessors in the iPhone 14 lineup.
