Cooler Master Unveils 27-Inch Gaming Monitor with 576 Mini LED Zones

Cooler Master is making waves with its latest announcement, introducing the Tempest GP2711 gaming monitor series. What sets this series apart is its utilization of VA panel technology with a remarkable 576 Mini LED backlight zones.

Unlike the conventional IPS panels, the VA technology employed in the Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 offers distinct advantages, including a notably higher static contrast ratio and reduced glare on darker content. This inherent capability makes VA panel monitors particularly well-suited for delivering HDR content, complete with local dimming for enhanced contrast. However, it’s worth noting that VA technology still faces certain challenges, especially in terms of response times when dealing with darker content.

In the realm of specifications, the Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 boasts a 27-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, delivering a rapid GtG response time of less than 4ms. It further impresses with a static contrast ratio of 3,000:1 and a brightness level reaching up to 600 cd/m2 (SDR).

This monitor also supports 8-bit color depth and offers coverage for 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 93.5% of Adobe RGB. To add to its credentials, the monitor undergoes factory calibration, ensuring a Delta E<2.

Digging deeper into its features, the monitor boasts an impressive 576 Mini LED backlight zones, earning it VESA DisplayHDR100 certification. This translates to a peak HDR brightness of 1500 nits, delivering breathtaking visuals. Furthermore, the monitor offers a smooth gaming experience with a refresh rate of 165 Hz and adaptive sync support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology from both NVIDIA and AMD.

On the connectivity front, the Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 leaves no stone unturned, featuring a comprehensive range of options. These include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and a versatile USB Type-C port, which not only functions as an alternative DisplayPort but also supports Power Delivery (PD) up to 15W. Notably, the monitor incorporates a unique Cooler Master heatsink and thermal back cover design, ensuring efficient cooling without the need for additional fans.

Cooler Master’s Tempest GP2711 is set to redefine the gaming monitor experience, combining cutting-edge technology with a focus on performance and visual excellence.
