Elon Musk Contemplates Turning Twitter (X) into a Paid Service?

Ever since its acquisition by Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, the platform formerly known as Twitter has undergone some quite sensational changes, particularly from the user’s perspective.

Now, there are reports suggesting that Elon Musk is toying with the idea of transforming the Twitter (X) platform into a paid service by introducing a budget-friendly subscription tier in the near future.

As reported by TechCrunch, following his discussion with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a Monday, Musk hinted at his company’s intention to implement “a modest monthly fee” for users of the X platform. The primary motive behind this move is to combat the issue of bots that plague the platform.

Regrettably, Elon Musk did not reveal the exact cost of this economical subscription or provide a concrete timeline for its implementation.

At present, Twitter (X) already offers a Premium service, granting users access to enhanced features for a subscription fee of $8 per month or $84 per year. What are your thoughts on the possibility of Twitter (X) no longer remaining a free platform for users in the future?
