Oppo introduced the Oppo Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro in China in August 2022. According to a recent Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming flagship smartwatch from Oppo is likely to skip the name Oppo Watch 4.
The superstition surrounding the number 4 in China and some other Asian countries may have influenced this decision. Instead, it appears that the upcoming iteration will be introduced as the Oppo Watch 5. Here are the first details of this smartwatch.
Key Details of Oppo Watch 5 Pro
According to the leaked information, the Oppo Watch 5 is codenamed “Comet” and features a square screen with curved edges. It will have a 570mAh battery and come with support for eSIM connectivity. The leak also mentioned that the smartwatch will be available in white and black carbon fiber finishes.
As a reminder, the Oppo Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro were equipped with 400mAh and 550mAh batteries, respectively. Therefore, the leaked information is likely referring to the Oppo Watch 5 Pro variant rather than the vanilla model.
The Oppo Watch 5 series is expected to be officially unveiled alongside the Oppo Find N3 foldable smartphone. A previous Weibo post by the same leak source revealed that the company plans to launch the Find N3 in the third quarter of this year.
Specifications of Oppo Find N3
The Oppo Find N3 will feature an 8-inch OLED LTPO display with Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the outside, it will have a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz cover display.
The rear camera setup of the Find N3 will include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. It will have a 20-megapixel front-facing camera and a 32-megapixel camera on the display.
Powering the Find N3 will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 4,805mAh battery with 80W fast charging. It will come with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
