Galaxy Fold 4 Camera Quality is Not Enough, Now Huawei-ZTE-BOE Compete with Under-Display Selfie Camera

Three giant Chinese technology companies, Huawei, ZTE, and BOE, are working together to create the best foldable OLED screen with an under-display camera.

The first phone that potentially benefits from this cutting-edge screen technology is the future foldable smartphone, Huawei Mate X4.

Of course, Mate X4 will not be the first foldable smartphone with an under-display selfie camera since Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 debuted with the technology, but it’s far from ideal.

The hidden selfie camera is well-hidden, but its quality is very poor. Well, Huawei, ZTE, and BOE think they’ve finally solved it.

The new OLED panel called “Q8” reportedly finally solves the camera quality problem, largely thanks to ZTE’s expertise in the field and BOE’s tradition in producing screens.

After all, ZTE’s Axon series pioneered under-display camera technology several years ago and has made significant improvements over the past few generations.

The new screen is said to have a resolution of 2480 x 1116px and uses a high-frequency PWM dimming of 1,440Hz.
