Garmin is reportedly gearing up to release its latest smartwatch called the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar. The device is part of the new Instinct 2X series and is expected to be larger than the current Instinct 2 model. Renders shared by WinFuture show that the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar has a 57mm case size, making it much larger than the existing model.
One of the most noticeable design differences between the Instinct 2 and Instinct 2X is the thickness of the bezel. The Instinct 2X has a thicker bezel, and the visible screw inclusion gives it a more sturdy and industrial look. However, the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar will still retain the five hardware buttons that are also included in the Instinct 2 model.
The Garmin Instinct 2X Solar will feature a MiP display, known for being power-efficient and providing excellent battery life. Unlike some of Garmin’s other recent releases, such as the Forerunner series, the Instinct 2X Solar will not feature an AMOLED display. While this may be seen as a disadvantage by some users, the use of the MiP display should enable the watch to offer exceptional battery life.
One of the most interesting features of the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar is the inclusion of a small solar element that can keep the watch charged when used outdoors for extended periods. This feature is expected to offer practical runtime without limits, making the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar an ideal choice for those who spend a lot of time outdoors.
The Instinct 2X Solar will also be water-resistant up to 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming, diving, and other water-based activities. In addition, the watch will come equipped with an integrated LED flashlight, with customizable color and brightness. This is a practical feature that outdoor enthusiasts will surely appreciate, especially those who may find themselves in low-light conditions.
At this stage, the pricing and availability details of the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar are unknown. However, based on the leaked renders, it is clear that Garmin is working on an exciting new smartwatch that will surely appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and tech-savvy consumers.
