Huawei recently launched its two new smartwatches in its home country, China, called the Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro. These devices have been available for purchase in the Chinese market since last week.
Now, the Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro have been officially launched in the global market. Specifically, these duo wearables are the first smartwatches to run on HarmonyOS, developed by Huawei itself.
The Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro smartwatches feature a 1.5-inch AMOLED display, offering a screen resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a pixel density of 310 PPI.
For performance, the Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Both Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro smartwatches feature an Always-On Display with a variety of watch faces to choose from. Additionally, they are also rated to be water-resistant up to 5 meters.
The Huawei Watch 4 Pro model in this series comes with a larger casing with a diameter of 48mm and a depth of 12.9mm, while the standard model has a 46mm dial and a casing depth of 10.9mm.
The Huawei Watch 4 Pro is powered by a larger 780mAh battery compared to the 530mAh battery that powers the Watch 4.
In terms of build, the Huawei Watch 4 has stainless steel, composite fiber, and 3D glass, while the Pro model features titanium, ceramic, and sapphire crystal glass.
For health and fitness features, the Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro smartwatches are equipped with a heart rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, EKG, skin temperature, stress tracker, arterial stiffness indicator, and respiratory health data.
The Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro can also collect the seven parameters into a one-minute health overview. They support over 100 exercise modes and AI running coach.
The Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro also have a fall detection feature that sends an SOS with a single tap. Additionally, the Huawei Watch 4 Pro receives LTE connectivity through an eSIM and built-in GPS, which the standard variant does not have.
The Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro will be available for purchase in the European market starting from June 13, with prices of 449 euros and 549 euros, respectively. Huawei stated that those who pre-order the devices between June 13 and June 27 will receive a free pair of FreeBuds 5i.
