Google seems to be aggressively increasing the number of ads in their services. After Google Play Store started showing ads some time ago, now many users are complaining that ads in Gmail are increasing both on the website and mobile versions.
Ads in Gmail have been around for a long time and users didn’t complain about it for a while. These ads were previously only found in the “Promotions” and “Social” tabs, and were at the top with the label “Ad” while genuine emails were at the bottom.
However, as reported by 9to5Google, in recent days, many users have complained that ads in Gmail now also appear in between genuine emails. Even some users received ads in the “Primary” inbox tab where there were no ads at all before.

The increase in these ads reportedly occurred in both the website version and the smartphone application of Gmail. The ad format used is the same as before, which is in the form of a regular email list with a special label indicating that it is an ad.
However, the appearance of ads among genuine emails has caused many users to express their complaints on social media. Hmm… how about you, do you feel disturbed by these new ads?
