The AI-based search engine war has begun between Google and Microsoft. Seeing that Microsoft has taken a step further by integrating Bing AI into various applications, Google also doesn’t want to be left behind with its Bard AI. Google is known to be using its biggest power, Android, to expand the reach of its AI.
According to a report from 9to5Google, Google is currently developing a widget for Bard AI so that the chatbot can be accessed directly through the Android smartphone homescreen. The widget is rumored to be exclusive to Pixel phones first before eventually branching out to other Android phones.
However, it is not yet known whether Bard AI will become a separate application or will be one of the features of the Google Search application. If developed as a separate application, Google may be able to provide supporting features for Bard AI, but the development time will certainly be longer.
On the other hand, their rival Microsoft has already taken a step further with their Bing AI, which is directly integrated into Bing Search and also Microsoft Edge browser, including in mobile applications. This makes Google work with time so as not to fall further behind Microsoft. As information, Bard AI is currently in the public preview stage that can only be accessed on the website.
