HarmonyOS 4.0 Adoption Reaches 10 Million Devices in One Month

Despite its foundation on the open-source Android platform, Huawei has made significant strides in developing its proprietary operating system, HarmonyOS. In a remarkable feat, the latest iteration, HarmonyOS 4.0, has already found its way onto a staggering 10 million Huawei devices within just one month.

Huawei had previously revealed that HarmonyOS 4.0 saw adoption by 5 million devices within the first two weeks of its official release, with an astonishing 1 million devices making the transition on the very first day.

Notably, Huawei has been proactive in rolling out the latest OS updates to a wide range of its devices. Initially, 30 smartphones were slated to receive the HarmonyOS 4.0 beta, followed by the addition of 37 more devices shortly thereafter.

HarmonyOS 4.0 brings with it notable improvements in design and functionality. Users can expect richer theme options, diverse color palettes, and enhanced notification management. This latter feature simplifies the process of sorting and prioritizing notifications, eliminating the need to open each one individually.

Intriguingly, Huawei is also exploring the integration of HarmonyOS 4.0 with PCs. This forward-looking initiative hints at the possibility of future Huawei laptops running HarmonyOS instead of the traditional Windows operating system.
