As we have heard before, the popularity of AI in recent times has led technology giants such as Microsoft, Tesla, and others to race to incorporate artificial intelligence into their products.
AI, like ChatGPT, brings a breath of fresh air to technology development in 2023. Hence, it’s no wonder to mention that Artificial Intelligence is the technology of the future. However, given that the company behind ChatGPT, OpenAI, is backed by Microsoft, other companies like Google wouldn’t want to fall behind, especially its rival Bing.
Google will integrate AI into the Google Search web
The news that Microsoft is integrating ChatGPT into their search engine Bing has made Google not want to stay silent. In the latest report by The Wall Street Journal (via Android Police), Google is also preparing their search engine to utilize their own artificial intelligence features.
The information is planned to be provided at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 event in a few days and is named Magi. It is unclear whether Magi is just a codename or the name they will use officially. With this integration, it means that the world’s largest search engine has entered the AI realm that has been dominated by Bing with its ChatGPT.
Not just text, Google Search will also display short videos
The WSJ also mentioned that this new feature will prioritize four things: visual, snackable content, personalization, and humanity. Google Search itself has undergone many changes, although most of them are not noticeable. A spokesperson for the company told WSJ that there will be AI elements in Google search in the future and a few short videos in search results.
According to the documents known to WSJ, Google will start integrating this AI feature at least this year, although there is no exact date and deadline. Users might expect a search style like ChatGPT that leans towards conversation and requests users to ask follow-up questions if the received information is unclear.
For more detailed information, you may have to wait for the Google I/O event, which will be held on May 10.
