Qualcomm has made a significant announcement with the introduction of the Snapdragon X75 5G modem, accompanied by an advanced RF system. Unveiled at the beginning of 2023, this cutting-edge model has earned itself a world record as the speediest 5G modem operating within the sub-6GHz spectrum. Boasting remarkable download speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps, the Snapdragon X75 sets a new benchmark for 5G connectivity.
The potential of such high-speed connectivity is nothing short of transformative. Users will now be able to download a full-length 4K/UHD quality movie, spanning 120 minutes, in an astonishingly brief timeframe of just 38 seconds.
The impressive performance of the Snapdragon X75 was tested within a standalone (SA) 5G network configuration. Achieving these remarkable speeds hinged on the utilization of a comprehensive 300MHz spectrum, coupled with innovative techniques like 4x carrier aggregation (4xCA). This configuration also incorporated 4 TDD (Time Division Duplex) channels within a single downlink connection, enhancing data throughput. Additionally, the integration of 1024 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) per company contributed to pushing the boundaries of spectral efficiency.
This modem’s capabilities enable network operators to leverage its potential by amalgamating their spectrum resources, consequently attaining accelerated data speeds. Furthermore, the integration of 1024 QAM amplifies the efficiency of spectral usage, accommodating a larger volume of data within each transmission.
