iOS 17.0.3 Update: Can It Tackle iPhone 15 Pro Overheating?

Apple’s iPhone 15 series lineup has made its debut, featuring the iPhone 15 Pro model constructed with titanium materials. However, recent user complaints have arisen, with some reporting unexplained overheating issues with their iPhone 15 Pro.

In response to these concerns, Apple swiftly released the iOS 17.0.3 update, aiming to resolve the overheating problem. To assess the effectiveness of this update, ZDNet conducted temperature tests on the iPhone 15 Pro before and after the installation of iOS 17.0.3.

Before the update, the iPhone 15 Pro’s temperature reached a concerning 107.1 degrees Fahrenheit, roughly 41 degrees Celsius, a temperature level deemed abnormal for a smartphone. After applying the iOS 17.0.3 update, the temperature did not surpass 93.8 degrees Fahrenheit, or around 34 degrees Celsius, indicating a notable reduction in overheating issues.

However, reports suggest that the iOS 17.0.3 update may not have entirely resolved the overheating problems, with some users experiencing minimal temperature improvements post-update.

Looking ahead, Apple is currently testing the iOS 17.1 update, with hopes of delivering consistent improvements and further enhancements for the iPhone 15 Pro, addressing lingering overheating concerns and other related issues.
