Jabra to Discontinue Consumer Earbuds Business

Following the recent launch of new models in its Elite series, Jabra has made the decision to withdraw from the consumer earbuds market.

GN Group CEO Peter Karlstromer stated that this strategic shift is part of the company’s commitment to concentrate on more lucrative sectors, aiming to achieve sustainable growth and substantial profitability.

Jabra will halt production of its consumer earbuds lines, including the Elite and Talk series. Previously, Jabra repositioned its Elite earbuds as a premium offering to compete with products from Apple, Sony, and Bose. However, over time, the company found it challenging to achieve sufficient profitability compared to opportunities in the Hearing, Enterprise, and Gaming industries.

While Jabra will continue selling existing inventory until stocks are exhausted, this phase-out is anticipated to conclude by the end of this year. Despite discontinuing production and sales, GN Group will continue to support and provide service for these devices for several years.
