Leaked Benchmark Points to Dimensity 8200 SoC in IQOO Z8

Rumors are swirling about IQOO’s imminent release of their latest mid-range offering, the iQOO Z7 Pro. This device is set to join the existing IQOO Z7 series, which already made its debut in Indonesia.

Curiously, the official announcement for the iQOO Z7 Pro is still under wraps. Yet, intriguingly, benchmark scores for a purported IQOO Z8 smartphone have surfaced ahead of its official unveiling.

The leak originated from a Geekbench benchmark snapshot. A device bearing the model name vivo V2314A is speculated to be the upcoming “iQOO Z8.” Details gleaned from this indicate that the device could be powered by the Dimensity 8200 System on Chip (SoC), accompanied by 12GB of RAM utilizing LPDDR5 technology.

Comparatively, leaked information regarding the IQOO Z7 Pro had pointed toward the employment of the Snapdragon 782G SoC. Additionally, indications were that it would incorporate 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

However, given that both these devices are yet to be officially unveiled, it’s feasible that IQOO might opt for distinct names based on the regional market. This conjecture gains traction as IQOO operates as a sub-brand under vivo, a brand known for adjusting product nomenclature based on regional preferences.

Adding to the intrigue, another model, identified as the vivo V2312A, is speculated to don the “iQOO Z8x” moniker. Differing slightly, this smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC and equipped with 8GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 boasts a more advanced lithography process (4nm Samsung) compared to the Snapdragon 782G (6nm TSMC). However, it operates Cortex-A78 cores at a slightly lower clock speed.

Notably, iQOO has already introduced various smartphones featuring the Dimensity 8200, such as the Neo7 and Neo7 SE. However, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 has not been featured in their lineup so far.

Rumors regarding the IQOO Z8 also allude to an LCD display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a substantial 5,000mAh battery that can be rapidly charged at 120W. In contrast, the iQOO Z8x is rumored to come with a larger 6,000mAh battery, albeit with a slower 80W charging capability.
