Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, is reportedly preparing to launch its latest affordable tablet, rumored to be called Redmi Pad 2. Recently, there have been leaks regarding the second-generation tablet from the Chinese company.
According to Digital Chat Station, a leaker known for providing accurate information, the Redmi Pad 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset. It’s worth noting that the previous Redmi Pad used the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset.
Furthermore, the Redmi Pad 2 is said to feature a 10-11-inch screen with a 2K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will have an 8,000mAh battery capacity, and the camera department will include an 8MP sensor and a 5MP sensor for selfies.
The device is still positioned as an entry-level tablet with an affordable price tag. Based on the specifications revealed so far, it seems that the Redmi Pad 2 will not bring significant upgrades compared to its predecessor.
The first Redmi tablet, which featured the Helio G99 chipset, had a 10.6-inch 2K resolution screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and an 8,000mAh battery.
However, the announcement date for the Redmi Pad 2 is still unknown, and there is limited information available about the leaks. It is likely that the tablet will be introduced at the end of this year, following the pattern of the first-generation Redmi Pad, which debuted in China in October last year. Let’s wait and see!
