After being the subject of rumors for some time, Meta has finally taken the wraps off its latest AR/VR device, the Meta Quest 3.
Compared to its predecessors, this AR/VR device offers notable improvements. It boasts a more compact and slim design, with a 40% reduction in size. The graphics processing has been enhanced, resulting in faster performance, and the display resolution has been elevated to provide users with a more immersive and lifelike AR/VR experience. While detailed specifications have not been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the Meta Quest 3 will utilize the latest Snapdragon chip, delivering graphics performance that is more than twice as powerful as the previous generation.
The Touch Plus controller also showcases a fresh design. It now incorporates advanced tracking technology and haptic feedback, providing users with a more natural and intuitive feel when gripping the controller.
The Meta Quest 3 is set to offer an extensive library of over 500 VR games, applications, and a wide range of VR/AR content experiences. Official sales of the device are scheduled to commence in the autumn of 2023. However, it’s worth noting that the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro will continue to be available for purchase alongside the release of the Meta Quest 3.
