Nio Phone, the latest innovation from the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio, has just made its debut as a groundbreaking smartphone. Notably, it serves as an integrated accessory for Nio’s electric cars, creating a seamless connection between mobile technology and EV ownership.
In terms of specifications, the Nio Phone stands out as a flagship device. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and boasts a robust 50 MP primary camera. Beyond these impressive features, it also serves a dual purpose as a “car key,” functioning even when the smartphone is powered off. These capabilities are just the tip of the iceberg, with the device offering at least 30 additional features designed to support Nio’s EV lineup.
The smartphone further impresses with a 6.81-inch LTPO OLED display featuring a crisp 1440p resolution, a rapid 144Hz refresh rate, and a remarkable brightness level of 1800 nits. It comes equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM and offers a capacious internal storage option of up to 1 TB.

The integration of the Nio Phone with Nio’s electric vehicles is achieved through the Nio Link app. This application acts as a central hub for various EV-related functionalities. Beyond serving as a car key, it enables users to locate their parked EV, adjust in-car AC settings, customize seat positions, manage audio playback, and receive real-time updates on the EV’s battery status and estimated driving range. Moreover, this device can be seamlessly integrated into the EV’s dashboard, functioning as an external display.
Notably, the Nio Phone prioritizes security and protection, given its role as an integral component of Nio’s EV ecosystem. The device incorporates robust safeguards against malware, hacking threats, and stringent data encryption measures.
Additional features of this smartphone include a substantial 5200mAh battery with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support, as well as an IP68 certification for enhanced durability and resistance to environmental factors.
