The Oppo Find N2 Flip is currently the flip phone with the largest external screen. It is rumored that upcoming flip phones from Samsung and Motorola will have even larger external screens than the Oppo. However, interesting information has recently emerged that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will not only have one, but two external screens.
A tipster named SuperRoader shared a render image that is said to be the design concept of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. From the front, it looks the same as its predecessor with the main screen that can be folded and a punch-hole selfie camera in the center.
What’s unique is the back of the phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover panel is divided into two parts. The top part holds a dual horizontal camera, LED flash, and a small screen. The small screen will display information such as the time, battery status, and AR emoji.
The remaining area on the cover panel is filled with a square-shaped screen that is 3.4 inches in size with an aspect ratio of 1:1.038. From the render, it appears that the larger screen can be used to view notifications, access widgets, shortcuts for settings, and also as a viewfinder for the camera.
Other details show that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 appears to fold perfectly without leaving any gaps. As we know, Samsung is reportedly using a new waterdrop-shaped hinge design that will also reduce fold marks on their foldable phones.
The concept of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 seems quite interesting. However, it should be noted that the render image is not official from Samsung, so don’t have too high expectations.
