CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei, has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be globally launched in July 2023. Additionally, the second-generation smartphone from the British startup will feature a larger battery capacity compared to its predecessor.
The Nothing Phone (2) is confirmed to have a 4,700mAh battery, which is a 200mAh increase from the 4,500mAh capacity of the Nothing Phone (1), although it still falls short of the current standard of 5,000mAh for smartphones.
While the complete specifications have not been revealed yet, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Moreover, based on teasers shared by Nothing, the new phone will have a design somewhat similar to its predecessor.
Unfortunately, there is no exact release date available for the Nothing Phone (2) at the moment. However, as we approach July, we can expect to receive clearer information about the phone that has garnered attention due to its unique transparent design with lightning LED.
For reference, the Nothing Phone (1), which was also released in July 2022, featured specifications such as the Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 6.55-inch OLED FHD+ 120Hz display, dual cameras with 50MP and 16MP sensors, and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W wired and 15W wireless charging support. It also had LPDDR5 RAM up to 12GB and UFS 3.1 storage up to 256GB.
