Nubia Might Be Gearing Up to Launch a New Flip Foldable Smartphone

It looks like Nubia is gearing up to launch its latest flip smartphone soon. Based on certification data found on the IMEI website, a new listing indicates that the Nubia Flip II has entered the database under the model number NX732J. Unfortunately, no additional details about the device are available at this time.

While there isn’t much information yet about the Nubia Flip II, we can look back at the specs of the Nubia Flip 5G, which was released earlier in 2024, to get an idea of what to expect. The Nubia Flip 5G featured a flip design with a large circular camera module on the back. In addition to its camera setup, the back of the phone housed a secondary 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels.

The main display on the Nubia Flip 5G was a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, which supported PWM dimming at 2160Hz, a 120Hz refresh rate, and the full DCI-P3 color gamut. The device was powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, coupled with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. It also featured a 4,310 mAh battery.

ZTE, the company behind Nubia, has yet to release any official information about the development of the Nubia Flip II. However, given that the first Nubia Flip was only released in early 2024, it is possible that the Nubia Flip II may not be officially introduced until sometime in 2025.

As we wait for more details, it will be interesting to see how Nubia builds on its flip smartphone concept and what new features or improvements the Flip II might bring to the market. With foldable and flip phones gaining popularity, Nubia’s upcoming device could be a significant contender in this growing segment.
