Some time ago, we saw leaked render images of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. Now, it’s the turn of actual photos of the clamshell foldable phone’s official transparent case that have surfaced, which also reinforces the previous leak that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a sufficiently large external screen.
Revealed by the same credible leaker, Ice Universe, the photo of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 case shows an asymmetrical cutout to accommodate the external screen. The design is similar to the previously leaked renders.
Reportedly, the external screen has a diagonal size of 3.4 inches with a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels. Samsung is said to be adding several functional features, including widgets, to the external screen, in addition to the larger size compared to the 1.9-inch external screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
While the full specifications are not yet known, it is speculated that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset. The phone itself will be announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place around July.
It is speculated that Samsung is holding the second Galaxy Unpacked event earlier than usual in August due to the increasingly heated competition in the foldable phone market in recent years. Even Google is set to join the competition by releasing the Pixel Fold on May 10, 2023.
