Oppo A18 Emerges Quietly, Bearing Striking Resemblance to Oppo A38

In a discreet launch, Oppo has introduced its latest entry-level smartphone, the Oppo A18, primarily targeting the Saudi Arabian market. Notably, the Oppo A18 bears a striking resemblance in both design and specifications to the Oppo A38, which had its debut earlier in the same month.

The Oppo A18 boasts an IPS display measuring 6.56 inches, offering HD+ resolution and a swift 90Hz refresh rate. At the heart of the display, a modest waterdrop notch discreetly houses the 5MP front-facing selfie camera. When viewed from the front, the Oppo A18 is virtually indistinguishable from its counterpart, the Oppo A38.

Turning to the rear of the device, it shares an uncanny similarity, including the camera module. However, a discernible difference lies in the camera specifications, with the A18 featuring an 8MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

This camera configuration stands as the sole significant distinction between the A18 and A38. To provide context, the Oppo A38 offers a rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Remarkably, the remainder of the specifications remains consistent. The Oppo A18 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, complemented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage. Users have the convenience of expanding storage via a microSD card.

With a substantial 5,000mAh battery capacity, the A18 upholds dependable performance. It operates on ColorOS 13.1, which is based on Android 13, and includes a noteworthy IP54 rating. Furthermore, the smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor seamlessly integrated into the power button for enhanced security and accessibility.
