Qualcomm is expanding its audio chipset portfolio by introducing S3 Gen 2 Sound. With the combination of Snapdragon Sound technology and Bluetooth LE Audio, the chipset is claimed to have latency below 20 ms for a lag-free gaming audio experience.
Meanwhile, music enthusiasts can enjoy high-resolution 24-bit 96 kHz audio streaming via Bluetooth. This can be achieved through the support of Snapdragon Sound technology and aptX Adaptive Audio codec.
Furthermore, Qualcomm states that headsets and earbuds supporting Qualcomm S5 and S3 Gen 2 technology will provide strong connectivity and dynamic latency, which adjusts to the conditions.
As a result, gamers can still hear real-time audio from the games they play without interruption, even when they move away from the console or PC.
Audio manufacturers can also utilize the Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound platform to add Auracast Broadcast functionality to dongles and adapters, allowing them to connect with source devices such as smartphones, laptops, or TVs.
Some other features embedded in Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound include Qualcomm Hybrid Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) 3rd generation, Dynamic Spatial Audio, Audio Sharing, Stereo Recording, and Gaming Mode.
