Qualcomm has officially announced the launch date of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm will be introduced at the Snapdragon Summit on October 24-26, 2023, in Maui, Hawaii.
This schedule is one month earlier than the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. For reference, SD8 Gen 2 was introduced on November 15 last year, which was also earlier than the previous generation.
According to circulating rumors, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is said to have a new 1+5+2 configuration, which includes 1x Cortex-X4 as the prime core, 5x Cortex-A720, and 2x Cortex-A520. Meanwhile, the GPU used will be the Adreno 750.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to have a significant performance improvement in both the processor and graphics. On the other hand, the rumored L3 cache on the chipset is said to increase from 8MB to 10MB.
The launch of Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset is still quite a long way off. However, according to leaks from renowned leaker Digital Chat Station, some smartphone brands are already preparing to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
It is claimed that the Xiaomi 14 Series will be the first to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The flagship phone from Xiaomi is reportedly set to launch around November of this year.
Meanwhile, several phones from other brands such as the vivo X100, iQOO 12, Redmi K70, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5 will follow a few months later. Hmm… can’t wait for it!
