The new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 from Qualcomm might sound like a brand new chip, but hold on. It’s actually a souped-up version of the 2021 Snapdragon 695. While they share the same basic design and manufacturing process, the 6s Gen 3 packs a punch with a faster CPU, a more powerful GPU, and better AI performance. They cranked up the clock speeds and swapped in a newer Adreno GPU for smoother graphics.
This mid-range chip keeps costs down for budget phones. Built on a 6nm process, it has two groups of CPU cores: two high-performance cores and six more efficient ones. It also includes extras like the Adreno 619 GPU, a FastConnect 6200 modem for connectivity, and support for common memory and storage options. Plus, the camera processing can handle up to 1080p video at 60 frames per second.
So, the 6s Gen 3 is basically a confirmed upgrade to the 695. This means you can expect better performance from phones using the newer chip.
