The mid-range graphics card from NVIDIA, the RTX 3060 Ti, has been one of the flagship products from the green camp. Since its release in 2020, it has become one of the most popular graphics cards in the market. However, there are rumors circulating that the production of this VGA card will be discontinued.
The information comes from China, stating that NVIDIA plans to halt the production of the RTX 3060 Ti. This product, initially launched with an MSRP of $399, has been highly sought after by gamers due to its impressive gaming performance. In fact, the graphics card has secured a position in the top 10 in the Steam Hardware Survey.
NVIDIA Rumored to Discontinue Production of RTX 3060 Ti
NVIDIA seems to be shifting its focus towards the sales of the RTX 4060 Ti, which is rumored to be released in May. This VGA card is also said to have two VRAM variants, namely 16GB and 8GB.
However, it’s important to note that this information is currently just a rumor circulating among retailers and distributors in China. As always, it is not necessary to fully believe in rumors without concrete information, especially if they don’t provide details regarding when the production discontinuation will start.
NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti Rumored to Arrive in May
Looking at the successor graphics card, the RTX 4060 Ti from the Ada Lovelace series, it doesn’t seem to have significantly different specifications compared to the Ampere RTX 3060 Ti. If the rumors are true, it is likely that the 8GB version of the RTX 4060 Ti will be released at the end of May, with the 16GB variant following in July.
The competition in the affordable price bracket is indeed fierce. Just like the red team, AMD, who is also preparing to release their RX 7600 on a similar date, May 25th. What we hope for from the release of the RTX 4060 Ti is an MSRP that is not overly aggressive.
