Qualcomm is reported to be developing a new mobile chipset with the code name SM7475. The chipset will have a three-cluster design with one prime core, three gold cores, and four silver cores.
This is also supported by a statement from Lu Wibing, Vice President of the Xiaomi Group and General Manager for Redmi, where he posted about the SM7475 on his Weibo page. It is likely that the same chipset will be introduced for the first time in a Redmi device in the near future.
Not much is known about this mysterious chipset, except for leaks from WHYLAB that suggest the SM7475 chipset will be available in Redmi devices by the end of March 2023. This device is expected to be a competitor to other brands.
The Snapdragon SM7475 chipset itself does not yet have an official name, but it is speculated that it will be called “Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1” or “Snapdragon 7 Gen 2”. It is also mentioned that the chipset will use TSMC’s 4nm fabrication with Adreno 730 GPU.
We will have to wait for further news from Qualcomm and Redmi themselves.
