Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Canceled in Favor of Foldable Phone, Check Out the Latest Info Here!

Samsung was previously reported to be planning to release the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE later this year. However, according to the latest reports, Samsung has decided to cancel the production of Galaxy S23 FE in favor of its latest foldable phone.

As it is known, the latest Fan Edition model released by Samsung was the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. According to 91mobiles on Sunday (3/26/2023), a leaker named Yogesh Brar through a tweet said that Samsung has canceled the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, because Samsung is reportedly going to release a new foldable phone.

Yogesh Brar’s leak claiming that Samsung is not currently developing the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE contradicts recent rumors. Previously, the Galaxy S23 FE was reported to be actively in development and would be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

However, according to the latest news, Samsung is reportedly working on a better version of its Z series foldable phone. This new lineup is expected to include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 which will be released later this year.

In addition, the tweet mentioned that Samsung is working on a new foldable phone that has a book-like design. Rumors about this design concept have been circulating for a while. Samsung is reportedly working on a double-hinged successor to the Galaxy Z Fold since 2018. Last year, Samsung even showcased a prototype of a foldable phone with three screens.

The double fold design of this foldable phone is likely to resemble a small tablet when folded, with a larger screen than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Other phone manufacturers have tried to bring a similar design to the market. But the challenge of creating this phone lies in the folding mechanism both inward and outward on the device.

Samsung is known to have made some progress in this field and showcased a prototype of a foldable phone with three screens at the early CES this year called the “Flex in and out” display platform.

Although foldable displays haven’t had much longevity in the past, Samsung’s ongoing efforts to push the limits of foldable phones are considered very interesting. This shows that Samsung sees design as the future of smartphones and continues to push the boundaries to bring new products to the market soon.
