Just like its predecessors, Samsung refreshes its Galaxy Tab S6 Lite every two years. The last release was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Edition 2022 featuring the Snapdragon 732G. Now, Samsung is gearing up for the next generation for the 2024 edition.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 Edition
The Tab S6 Lite was first introduced in 2020 with the Exynos 9611 SoC (10nm). Seeing its high sales figures, Samsung relaunched the tablet with an upgraded chipset, the Snapdragon 732G (8nm). For the 2024 edition, Samsung will once again utilize its own SoC, the Exynos 1280.
The Exynos 1280 is an octa-core SoC fabricated on a 5nm process and already supports 5G connectivity. This implies that the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 version will receive significant upgrades, not only in connectivity but also in power efficiency due to the smaller manufacturing process.
Unfortunately, there are no additional details regarding the specifications of the tablet device known to have the model number SM-P625 for the global market. However, based on the previous generation, it is estimated that aside from the SoC, there will be no significant changes in other aspects.
For reference, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Edition 2022 features a 10.4-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels. It comes with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 7,040mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. The tablet also supports the S-Pen and is equipped with stereo speakers tuned by AKG.
It can be said that the Tab S6 Lite targets users who desire a tablet with a large screen and decent performance. As for the release date, it is still unknown, but it is estimated to be in the second quarter of 2024.
