Emerging from the depths of the Chinese social media platform Weibo, new images have emerged, shedding light on the retail box of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 (Via GSMArena). These leaked images do more than just hint – they confirm that the phone will boast a camera system that’s been meticulously fine-tuned in collaboration with the renowned camera manufacturer Leica.
On a different note, another image zeroes in on the exterior display of the smartphone. This display exhibits a gentle curvature on the right side and strategically positions a punch-hole cutout front and center to house the front-facing camera.
Notably, the Mix Fold 3 is set to rewrite the foldable phone playbook for Xiaomi. It is poised to be the company’s inaugural foldable device featuring a quad-camera configuration on its rear, as highlighted by Gizmo China’s insightful reporting.
Should the earlier reports hold true, the smartphone will play host to a primary camera sensor sourced from Sony, the IMX800. This primary sensor will be complemented by an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto camera boasting an optical zoom of 3.2x, and a periscope telephoto lens capable of an impressive 5x zoom.
The external foldable screen, which promises a span of 6.56 inches, has been the subject of numerous whispers. Speculations suggest that this AMOLED panel will offer an FHD+ resolution, beautifully synchronized with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile, the main attraction, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3’s primary display, is anticipated to span a generous 8.02 inches, crafted from AMOLED technology, and boasting a QHD+ resolution, all harmonized with the same 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, powering this innovative foldable device is most likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This powerful engine is set to be coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a capacious 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Furthermore, the Mix Fold 3 is expected to come equipped with a 4,800mAh battery, which will support not only rapid 67W wired charging but also 50W wireless charging – all as attested by its 3C certification.
