Spotify Changes ‘Heart’ Button to Multifunctional ‘Plus’ Button

Spotify announced that they have changed the button with the ‘Heart’ icon to a button with the ‘Plus’ icon. Not only did Spotify replace it, but they also improved the function of the button.

Previously, the heart button was used to mark songs that users wanted to save, while users had to select “Add to Playlist” through the three-dot menu next to the song to add it to a playlist.

Now, Spotify has combined these two functions into one button with the Plus icon. Simply click or tap once on the Plus button, and you can save your favorite albums, playlists, or podcasts to Your Library.

Spotify has announced that they have changed the button with the ‘Heart’ icon to a button with a ‘Plus’ icon. Not only that, Spotify has also improved the function of the button. Previously, the heart button was used to mark songs that users wanted to save, while users had to select ‘Add to Playlist’ through the three-dot menu next to the song to add it to a playlist.

Now, Spotify has combined both functions into one button with the Plus icon. Simply click or tap once on the Plus button, and you can save your favorite albums, playlists, or podcasts to Your Library. Then, to save a song or podcast episode to Liked Songs or Your Episode, simply tap the Plus button once. Once saved, the plus icon will change to a green checkmark, and you can click the icon again to change the destination of the saved song or episode, such as saving it to another playlist.

Spotify says that this change will make it easier and save time for users when enjoying music and podcasts they like. The Plus button itself has started rolling out globally for iOS and Android users, while the desktop and web applications will follow soon.
