Surprising Results Unveiled in Durability Test of Google Pixel 7a

The latest mid-range offering from Google, the Pixel 7a, has undergone a durability test conducted by YouTuber JerryRigEverything. As we know, the smartphone was announced earlier this month.

One major difference between the Google Pixel 7a and the premium Pixel 7 duo is that the 7a comes with a plastic body. However, the phone delivered surprising results in the durability test.

The durability test started with Zack using a razor blade to scratch the screen of the Google Pixel 7a. Despite being protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the screen scratched easily at level 6 and even more at level 7.

In the friction test, the metal frame of the Google Pixel 7a also easily scratched. The metal volume rocker and power button were also removable. When the phone underwent a flame test, it withstood the flame for 25 seconds but quickly recovered.

The highlight of the video was the performance of the Google Pixel 7a in the bend test. The phone held its ground and refused to bend even after applying significant pressure from both sides.

What’s even more surprising is that the Google Pixel 7a has a plastic body, and Zack stated that it is still better than shattering glass.

The mid-range Google Pixel 7a outperformed the more expensive Pixel 7 Pro, which faced structural integrity issues during the durability test.

The durability test results of the Google Pixel 7a were even better than the recently tested ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.

As for the core specifications, the Google Pixel 7a features a 6.1-inch 90Hz OLED display and a 64MP + 13MP rear camera setup.

The device is powered by the Tensor G2 SoC and supported by a 4,300mAh battery with wireless charging support.
