Suspected Redmi K70 Pro Featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Spotted on Geekbench

Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for the arrival of the Redmi K70 Pro, the successor to the Redmi K60 Pro. This new smartphone has recently surfaced in the Geekbench database, sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

As of now, Xiaomi has remained tight-lipped about the Redmi K70 Series. Nevertheless, a Xiaomi device with the model number 23117RK66C has made an appearance on Geekbench, strongly believed to be the Redmi K70 Pro.

This particular device operates on Android 14 and boasts a generous 16GB of RAM. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core chipset with a unique configuration of 1+2+5, delivering a formidable maximum clock speed of 3.19 GHz.

All indications point to this chipset being the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a processor that Qualcomm is expected to officially unveil in the upcoming month of October. Last year’s Redmi K60 was equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, so it’s a logical prediction that its successor would feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset.

Alternatively, this device could also be the Xiaomi 14, which is rumored to be the first smartphone to adopt the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, previous reports referred to Xiaomi 14 with different model numbers, such as 23127PN0CC and 23116PN5BC. Hence, the appearance of the new model number 23117RK66C suggests it may be reserved for the Redmi K70 Pro.

Taking a cue from the release schedule of the previous year, where both Xiaomi 13 and the Redmi K60 Series were unveiled in the same month, it appears that the Redmi K70 Series is likely to be introduced in close proximity to the Xiaomi 14 announcement. The latest rumors point toward the debut of Xiaomi 14 in November 2023.
