The Threads app on iOS recently received its first update, bringing several new features, including the “Follows” tab. Unfortunately, this tab is not the feature that many users might have been hoping for in Threads, although it sounds similar.
The new Follows tab is only meant to help users discover new followers on the Activity page, which was previously mixed together for all user activity history. Additionally, there are now two other tabs for “Quotes” and “Repost” within the Activity page.
Now, the highly desired Follows tab by many Threads users is actually a tab to follow accounts on the Feed page. Currently, users can only view the “For You” Feed, which is a mix of recommended posts and those from followed accounts. Therefore, there is no option to exclusively see posts from the accounts they follow.
However, the Threads team has confirmed that the Follows tab feature on the Feed page is still in development, although the release date is not yet known. The recent iOS update for the Threads app also brought some other features, including translations, notifications from non-followed accounts, the option to follow accounts directly from reply posts, and much more.
Nevertheless, it appears that this update is only available to iOS users for now, while Android users will have to wait.
