Vivo is known to be preparing a clamshell foldable phone called Vivo X Flip. Rumors about the device have been circulating for the past few months. Recently, the foldable phone was spotted on the GeekBench database, which also revealed its key specifications.
With model number V2256A, the Vivo X Flip is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which has an octa-core processor with a base clock of 1.80 GHz and an Adreno 730 GPU. This is the same SoC as the one used in the Vivo X Fold+, a horizontal foldable phone released in late 2022.
Using a motherboard with the code name “taro”, the device comes with 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 13 OS. Its benchmark score is 1680 points for single-core and 4,267 points for multi-core. These results are competitive with flagship smartphones.
From previous rumors, the Vivo X Flip is said to have a 6.8-inch Full HD+ 120Hz main screen. Of course, the foldable phone will also have a secondary screen. However, despite leaked schematics of the Vivo X Flip design, it is not yet known exactly how large the external screen will be.
Other leaked information includes a 4,400mAh battery capacity with 44W fast charging support. The Vivo X Flip is also said to have a dual-camera configuration from Zeiss, with a 50MP Sony IMX866 main sensor and a 12MP IMX663 ultra-wide sensor.
Although it is said that the launch of the Vivo X Flip will happen soon, expected in April, so far Vivo has not provided any information about the arrival of their latest foldable phone. Therefore, its detailed specifications still cannot be confirmed.
